"Decolonisation" in the development world is often equated with the goal of building equal partnerships between organisations in the North and their "local partners" in the South. But how equal can we be if our development NGOs in the North are considered international while the NGOs we fund in the South are considered local?
IAMANEH Switzerland has long been aware of the challenge of a just partnership in an unequal world. However, it takes courage to understand these inequalities as part of the (neo-)colonial structure in which we are all still enmeshed. This is how our journey has begun.
